Mr & Mrs Clinton - Derbyshire - September 2013
Ellie and I both wanted a wedding that was individual and relaxed, a day for friends and family to join us in celebrating our marriage. We really didn’t want a run of the mill, country house wedding so we considered outdoor options but felt that Marquees lacked the individuality we were looking for.
Ellie spotted a tipi wedding in one of her magazines’ editorials and we knew that was really ‘us’. We looked around and were delighted to find two Tipi companies fairly local to us, including Peaktipis. We went along to an open day and fell in love with the idea and met with Matt and Duncan to discuss the options.
When you’re planning an outdoor wedding in a field without any onsite water, electricity or facilities it can be pretty daunting but choosing Peaktipis was one of the best decisions we made. Matt and Duncan worked with our caterers from the Middle Bell in Barton-Under-Needwood to help us plan an amazing day. Matt worked with us to ensure we stayed on budget, we never felt like they were trying to make us spend more, in fact they were even suggesting alternatives that could save us a few quid here and there… they became friends during the process and we had no concerns trusting them to deliver on the most special day of our lives. Peaktipis thought of everything, from access, lighting, and heating, to teaching my ushers how to use the fires and all those other little details that we’d never even dream of.
As we approached the day of the wedding Peaktipi’s gave us a clear plan of when where and how they were going to go about building our venue. When the tipi’s arrived it was amazing to watch as the team built the ‘wigwams’ and the catering tent and the floors went down……our magical day was all coming to life. Soon after, the ‘posh loos’ arrived, the generator was installed and the caterers set up the tables and bar. Ellie worked for hours dressing the tents until eventually we sat down for a beer with the guys, ready for the big day….it looked spectacular.
On the day everything went perfectly, even the weather behaved itself! All of our guests were amazed at the space we’d created and the relaxed airy feel of the Tipi’s. The kids and grannies appreciated the chill out area with comfy seats and a real log fire and we all celebrated until late that night with the log fires burning until the small hours.
We’d recommend Peaktipis to anyone planning an outdoor event, we can’t thank you enough guys.
And yes….you can wear high heels in a Tipi in a field!
