Natalie Hewitt tells us more….

I’ve worked in the customer service industry since 2005 and have loved every minute of it! I always had the ambition to run my own business but with so many hobbies and interests, I couldn’t decide on a niche. Whilst studying for my degree in Law and Criminology, my now husband proposed! I discovered an industry that incorporated all of my passions; flowers, diamonds, dresses, cakes, Champagne, and planning. I had found my calling! As with the majority of weddings, I encountered some difficulties and financial issues along the way. I consider myself to be a calm person, but the last few days were hectic, and looking back I wish I’d hired a wedding coordinator. I could have unloaded those last minute burdens, and concentrated more on enjoying my special day. Soon after I got married, one of my best friends followed suit and called on me for help. Although I had a wide range of experience in customer service and business management, I wanted to gain more in depth knowledge about the wedding industry, so I decided to study for a diploma in Wedding Planning, which I passed with Distinction. I also attended a number of evening classes to broaden my understanding of the role, including flower arranging, cake decorating and photography.

My ethos

I coined the phrase “The Bridal PA” because I wanted to set myself apart from wedding planners. I think the term can be quite intimidating for couples: too expensive and bossy, a bit like Monica from Friends! I provide set services but I am keen to portray the bespoke nature of my business. Each couple I meet are different and no wedding is the same (even if they have the same style), so I want to give my clients the personal assistance they need to ensure they relax and enjoy the whole process. I absolutely love my job and with a keen design eye and being a stickler for lists, I couldn’t have found a job I love more. My ethos is simple; to ensure that my clients enjoy planning their own weddings, with my assistance, at an affordable rate, that makes it a beneficial decision to appoint me.

What stands me apart from the competition

Unlike hiring a car or buying a cake, when you hire a wedding planner you are investing in the person. It is so important to like the planner you are hiring and I always say to new enquiries, shop around. It’s not about booking with planner who is offering the best price but it’s about who is offering the best service and who you get on with. I have had the absolute pleasure of working with some incredible couples and the gushing emails and beautifully worded cards I receive tell me that I am absolutely in the right job!

I also have a hire boutique, offering items such as garden games, polaroid camera and props, sweet stand etc. I have just launched an online wedding invitation website for those brides and grooms that want to offer a modern alternative to a postal invite. And I will be launching my own online planning tools soon, which offers brides secure access to a portal where they can keep a log of all their plans in one place – which is also accessible where ever this is internet.

My highlight to date

As soppy as this sound, all of my weddings are highlights. I get a buzz from meeting with my clients and coordinating their weddings. At the end of the wedding when I leave the guests to dance the night away, the hugs and praise I get is amazing. And when I receive a new enquiry from a bride who has recommended me, that just tops it off. Oh and appearing on the BBC News as an expert contributor was quite fun!

Working with Peaktipis

I haven’t worked with Peaktipi’s… yet!, but have met up with the team a handful of times now and I just can’t wait to plan or coordinate a wedding with them. They are such a fab bunch and working with great suppliers really makes a wedding just perfect. PLUS, any Peaktipis clients who book with me throughout 2016 will receive a whooping 10% off, full or partial planning and on the day co-ordination too! {for  any 2016 and 2017 weddings or events}
