Located in the most southerly part of rural Derbyshire, The Hidden Hive is a very special corner of the National Forest. With over 66 acres of woodland, meadows and three beautiful lakes*, The Hidden Hives exclusive, secluded field is idyllic for a Tipi wedding or event surrounded by nature. It provides the perfect backdrop for those all important photos and memories or your day/event.
* The lakes are open to Fisherman daily, but can be exclusively booked at £200 each if you’d like to have these all to yourself (minus any fisherman) on your wedding day.
The Hidden Hive has joined forces with our fabulous friends at Tinkers Bells to provide luxury glamping bell tents. PLUS there’s beautiful glamping pods available at the Beehive Woodland Lakes campsite adjacent to The Hidden Hive and the ability to pitch your own tents too!
Don’t fancy the full festival experience? Don’t worry as The Hidden Hive is just a 5 minute drive from Swadlincote and a 15 minute drive away from Burton-on-Trent, where there’s plenty of local taxi firms available to take you and your guests to a Hotel, B&B or group accommodation.
Hotels, B&B’s & Group Accomodation:
We don’t have a licensed structure at The Hidden Hive for Civil Ceremonies, but if you’re getting married, you can chose a church local to The Hidden Hive, or a Celebrant Ceremony can be arranged so everything takes place on site, in one place.
A Celebrant Ceremony or ‘blessing’ is a great choice for a Tipi Wedding, whether it’s outdoors or even inside the Tipis, it’s something that is becoming more and more popular. Subject to completing the legal formalities, you can choose to celebrate your day in your own unique way by creating a personalised, bespoke ceremony that reflects you and your beau’s personalities.
You can write your own vows, exchange rings, include readings and music and you can even sign a certificate too to reflect an element of tradition. You can also personalise it with a symbolic act such as hand fasting, where the hand of the bride and groom are wrapped in ribbons and a knot is tied – the origin of the phrase to tie the knot!
Equally if you’d prefer to keep an element of tradition about your day, you can opt for a church wedding or civil ceremony and retreat back to the Tipis at The Hidden Hive for your Wedding Breakfast and celebrations – the choice is yours.
