Back in the Spring this year we teamed up with some of the East Midland’s finest Wedding suppliers to produce a beautiful Springtime styled Tipi Wedding shoot. During the ideas stage for the photo shoot, it was really important for us to use local, East Midland based suppliers who we knew would deliver a fabulous end result in their respective field …..and deliver they certainly did!
The shoot took place at The Izaak Walton Hotel, in the heart of the picturesque Peak District which was the perfect setting for the Tipis and provided the perfect playground and setting for the shoot itself. The shots took place predominantly in and around the Tipis, capturing the styling, beautiful blooms, cake and eclectic mix of perfect props, but we also ventured to the iconic stepping stones in the Peak District’s Dovedale valley to capture the models against some scenic, landscape backdrops.
We took inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of Thorpe Cloud and Dove Dale, along with the natural, rustic presence of the Tipis to create a relaxed, whimsical and fun theme. The rationale behind the shoot (conceptually developed by the National award winning Wedding stylist, Mad Philomena) involved tapping into the emerging trend for paint splashes and abstract art and combining this with the concept of re-cycling – re purposing of everyday items to give them a newfound use and beauty.
The palette was fun, springtime, candy sweet, to contrast with the upcycled elements, whilst also keeping a romantic, feminine theme. An outdoor, summer feeling is delivered through both colour and the use of icons such as bicycles and kites. Neon signage was also incorporated as a vibrant ‘statement’.
The beautiful shots were captured by the delightful duo, Hannah and Toby of Red on Blonde Photography, who’s creative, fun and artistic style was exactly what we were looking for. We also captured the essence of the shoot in motion on video by the fabulously talented Adam Galwas, which gave the shoot an entire different and unique dimension.
Our Bride and Groom were styled with both hair and makeup by Claire Lowe Hair and Makeup with a view to represent a relaxed style with a slight nod towards Boho-chic. Our bride wore a pre-loved, true vintage wedding dress from Abigails vintage bridal , high street pretty pastel jewellery along with custom, bespoke footwear by MadP.
Fabric Theatre created a show-stopping, vibrant peak filled with ribbons to make a real focal point above the dance floor and lead into the glittering disco ball.
A colourful and welcoming entrance way was created with lashings of beautiful bunting from Tickety Boo Bunting.
A stunning collection of pretty pastel and gorgeous textured floral’s were lovingly set by Nadia Di Tullio within upcycled giant tin can centerpieces, as well as signature single stems in an eclectic collection of mini glass bottles.
A vibrant array of cake and treats were baked and displayed by Yummy Little Cakes, including the show-stopping piñata rainbow sprinkle cake.
